Joined 46th Battalion in France 7 Sept 1917
GSW wound left arm 10 Oct 1917. Releassed February 8, 1918. Went on leave to Glasgow, was drunk for 2 days and contracted VDG. In July 1918 at Bramshott strange behavior was noted and cut throat with razor on July 4 1918. States that prior to this heard voices telling him to cut throat. Mental age between 10 and eleven (Princeton Scale). Suicidal attempt may have been associated with alchol.
