Repatriation of three Officers for burial in Toronto

The majority of Canadians who died during the first World War overseas and were returned to Canada for burial, had died in hospitals in England.

Three Young Toronto Aviators Will Be Buried Together at Military Funeral

The bodies of three young Toronto aviators, Lieuts. W. G. Coutts, E. S. Osborne and Clifford E. Rider, arraived in the city this morning from England for burial in their native land. All the young officers went overseas together about a year a go. Lieut. Rider was killed on October 11 last, and his body was disinterred for transportation to Canada. Lieut. Osborn was killed on Nov. 28¹, and his companion, Lieut. Coutts, met his death three days later.

The bodies are at Miles' undertaking parlors on College street, and a joint military funeral is being arranged at a date not yet fixed. The R.F.C. will provide an escort and firing party.
