SURGEON ON DESTROYER

Sub.-Lieut. Hogarth, Who Returns to the University, Says the Navy is Confident.

To serve as a surgeon on a British destroyer since last spring has been the experience of Sub.-Lieut. W. P. Hogarth, who paid a visit to the University on Saturday. Lt. Hogarth went overseas with the University hospital, and was stationed for two years, and two months with that unit at Salonika. He is returning to finish his course in medicine, entering on third year work.

"There is a spirit of confidence in the navy that everything will ultimately turn out all right. There is no sign of worrying over the activities of the Hun subs. In the navy all the surgeons are known as surgeon probationers, and quite a number of these, are young Canadians.

Lieut. Hogarth holds a medal for having completed his naval duties. He is a son of W. F. Hogarth, Fort William.
