WANT SOLDIERS' PHOTOS

Government Wishes to Compile Complete History in Photographs of Canada's Share in War.

The officer in charge of Canadian War Records desire that an appeal be made to the relatives of officers, N.C.O.'s and men in the C.E.F. to send a photograph of every man for the purpose of compiling a complete history in photograph of the Canadians' share in the war, similar to the record being compiled by other belligerent countries.

By preference the photographs should be unmounted and printed on bromide paper in order to ensure permanence.  Each photograph should be accompanied by a concise record, not exceeding two or three hundred words, of the subject's military career, including date of enlistment, promotions, distinctions and so on, as this will greatly assist in obtaining a full and accurate record of all concerned.

Possessors of photographs dealing with mobilization, training and departure, reviews, sports, presentations, etc., are also asked to foward either originals and copies to be placed in the permanent Public Archives of the Dominion.

All photographs, which will be acknowledged, should be addressed to the officer in charge, Canadian War Records, 14 Clifford street, Bond street, London, W.I., England.
