Le Progres of the 24th says -- During the past week Spanish influenza has ravaged our city, and about 20 cases were fatal. Several now ill are in danger, and notwithstanding the efforts of our physicians the situation is most serious. We do not desire to criticize the health authorities, but we do say visiting the homes of the dead should cease. Several well-known people have died in their prime, among them two of or constables, Gariepy and Filiatreault. Funeral services are numerous, one morning there were seven, five at the Cathedral and two at the church of Bellerive. Tuesday afternoon Mrs. Alfred Levac, aged 28 died at the hospital of pneumonia. Unknown to her, her husband died before her. We are informed some families do not observe the rules of the health board respecting the decorations of death chambers. We warn them they are open to fines. Let us obey the health rules, consult the physicians and act with prudence.
