ROGERS A SPORTSMAN

Peterboro, May 5 - A cable received here last night by his father announcing the death of Pte. Heber Rogers, of the 57th Regiment, 2nd Battalion, in the battle of Langemarck, makes him the second Peterboro soldier to be killed in action.  Pte. Rogers was the youngest son of R. B. Rogers, C.E., 147 Hunter street east, the designer and builder of the hydraulic lift lock here.  He was only nineteen.  He was splendidly built, manly young man, an all-round sportsman in Rugby, swimming, canoeing and a strong wrestler.
