37th Landed Safely
Word has been received that the 37th Battalion, which contains a large number of Temiskaming men, has safely reached the shores of England, and the boys are now domiciled in one of the many camps kept up by the Canadians on the south-east shore of England. In addition to Capt. Tom Magladery and Lieut. Carl Green, and the many local boys in the 37th, we notice that another old friend is also an officer in this excellent battalion. We refer to Major Harry Cameron, of Beaverton, and if Major Cameron can handle the men of his command anything like as well as he used handle the old “Checker” lacrosse team of Beaverton, he will be a most popular officer.
