For Overseas
Steps are being taken with a view of enlisting the requisite fifty soldiers for overseas duty, and if that number can be secured it is expected that they will be quartered at New Liskeard until spring. The rural sections surrounding New Liskeard have not been worked to any extent, and there are scores of young men who no doubt feel their responsibility in the present great struggle, but who have not yet been approached in such manner as to have them enlist. We don't know of a better man for the Militia Department to send up for a few days to assist in this work, than Captain Tom Magladery, M.P.P. The young men of the District are requested to think over the proposition, and have their mind made up when the real recruiting for this purpose is commenced. By being quartered in New Liskeard the boys will be given the same work as received by those in larger centres, and at the same time will be nearer their homes until called upon to cross the water.
