Temiskaming's Representative Promoted
It created no surprise throughout Temiskaming when word was received that the District's popular member of the Local Legislature, Lieut. Tom Magladery, had been gazetted Captain in the 37th Battalion, and that Capt. Ansley had been gazetted Major. Since taking an active interest in military matters Captain Magladery has thrown his whole energy into the task in hand, that of conquering the German Alliance, and his rapid promotion is only what may be expected for all members of the Militia who throw the same amount of energy and ability into the work. Captain Magladery makes an ideal officer, and while the men of his command have the greatest respect for his position, at the same time he is proud of the fact that they have sufficient confidence in him to approach him at all times when in need of advice. Temiskaming hopes that Capt. Tom will be promoted to still higher positions.
