Jack Munroe's Wound
In a letter to a friend at Porcupine, Private Jack Munroe says that he was shot through the right chest and shoulder, paralyzing right hand and arm, from which wound he nearly died. It is since rumored that Private Munroe had lost his arm as a result of the injury. From all accounts the ex-Reeve of James Township more than did his share while on the firing line as one of the original heroic Princess Patricias.
