97th at Toronto
One hundred men for the 97th Regiment have been selected and are already in training at the Exhibition Grounds, Toronto. The examination at Sudbury seems to have been a severe one. It is possible that 250 men may be called for from the 97th and then those that are still at Sudbury will go with the 2nd quota. Those from New Liskeard who went down with the first 100 are John Gemmel, Chris Plant, Ernest Vout, Geo. Martin, A. Dent, P. Lyon, R. Pettifer, T. Molyneaux, M. Rhodes, Geo. Adams, D. McKenzie, Carl Lunberg, Wm. Muir, and S. Penn.
