PRESENTATION TO CANADIAN CORPS.
To commemorate the affiliation with the regiment of the two Canadian battalions, the 10th Royal Grenadiers, Toronto, and the 100th Winnipeg Grenadiers, the first and second battalions of the Leinster Regiment (Royal Canadians) have presented their Canadian comrades with a handsome silver shield as a musketry trophy.
The presentation was made yesterday at Winchester by Mrs. Prior, wife of Major-General G. Upton Prior, colonel of the Leinsters, the shield being received on behalf of Canadians by Lieutenant-Colonel Burritt and other Canadian officers from Salisbury Plain. Reference was made to the fact that the Leinster Regiment was first recruited in Canada as the 100th Foot 100 years ago.
