500 Ferrets for the Front

An Ashford (Kent) ferret dealer has during the past few months sent 500 ferrets to the British front in Flanders and France to assist in hunting out the hordes of rats which infest the trenches.
Rat hunting has become quite a sport with the troops and owing to the abnormal demand for ferrets, the price of them has risen in the Ashford district from 1s. to 5s. each.
