The objection by President Wilson, that the blockade of Germany was incomplete and therefore not to be recognized by neutrals has been removed. The traffic carried on between Swedish and Danish ports with Germany has been stopped, and the German coastlines sealed on the Baltic as effectively as it was on the Atlantic. British submarines, in a way not yet revealed, threaded the narrow entrance into the Baltic and, right and left, sank steamships carrying cargoes to Germany, totally suppressing the trade that had been going on of supplying iron, copper, cotton, lumber, and provisions. Incidentally two fine German warships were torpedoed.
