William Orr of Corbin has enlisted and is starting for Montréal today (14th) where he intends to join his regiment. On the eve of his departure the boys had a farewell meeting at Havelock and presented him with a purse, containing $20.75. Mr. Orr is a favorite with the boys; they wish him good luck and a safe return. He was engaged in making butter at Havelock this summer. His parents now reside in Claremont, New Hampshire.

Site of an early grist mill and later the site of a sawmill operated by Hosmer Corbin. William Orr's attestation papers give his residence as Hemmingford, Quebec
