P O Lachlan Grant Van Vlet, eldest son of Mr. and Mrs. David L. Van Vliet, was born at Lacolle, Que., on April 6th, 1925. He was educated at Lacolle, and at Hun- tingdon High School, where he graduated in 1942, ranking 4th in his class. He reported for ser- vice with the Armed Forces at Lachine, on March 5th, 1943. He received hls subsequent training at Aylmer, Ont. Victoriaville, Que. Sap. de la Madeleine, Que. and St. Hubert, Que. His wings and commission were received at St. Hubert, Que. on Feb. 25th, 1944. He is now stationed at Maitland, NS.
