Son of William Anderson of Montreal and Elizabeth Peebles Brodie of Ormstown, Quebec, 1 of 10 children
By 1872 the family had moved to Lanark county and settled in Almonte, Ontario, then by 1891 had moved to Manitoba.
He married Margaret Ella Ness of Ormstown, Quebec on 12 October 1910
By 1914 the family, including twin boys had moved to Winnipeg, Manitoba
By the time he enlisted in 1916 Dr. Anderson had 5 children, with another 2 coming after his return from France
He died on 5 May 1944 and is burried in Old Kildonan Cemetery, Greater Winnipeg, Manitoba
His wife, Margaret Ella Ness, died on 7 December 1968.
