Notes

Went to Hintingdon Acadamy 1927-1933, 1933-1936

Private Elder killed himself with a self inflicted gunshot wound shortly after arriving in England with the Black Watch. He had earlier been in a car accident while on leave and apparantly had an undisclosed head injury. His behavior slowly degraded until he was found in his barracks, bleeding heavily from a gun shot wound. He died shortly afterward at Cambridge Hospital. He left a note to his mother stating that he had only a short time to live.
