Additional Service Notes
Died of a vehicle accident while in service in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia. Cause of death was fracture of skull.
12 Jun 44. on Cole Harbour road, N.S. in the vicinity of Breakheart Hill. Pte. Lacroix was riding as a passenger in a carrier. At the time this carrier was on an all -day scheme. While proceeding along the road at 20 MPH the carrier started to slip in the gravel. It swung to the left and skidded two or three feet. The left side of the carrier came off the road and the carier turned over. Driver and five rassengers, including Pte. Lacroix, were caught underneath the carrier.
D.472586, Pte.. Lacroix R. sustained a crushed skull and died instantly.
Of the 6 in the carrier. Pte. Lacroix and one other died.
The vehicle suffered $28.00 of damages.
