Notes

Son of Colonel J. M. Elder

Graduated form McGill University as Medical Doctor in 1923.  He went into practice in Montreal between the wars.  He commanded the 9th Field Ambulance when it went overseas in 1939.  After serving in Italy, he was invalided to England and became the D.D.M.S. for the First Canadian Army.

Served in Second World War as Brigader, earning C.B.E, D.S.O and MiD. 

Dr. Elder died at Montreal June 9, 1951.
