Wounded by shrapnel at Lens to the arm and leg, August 1917. Recovered in England until June 1918 then returned to France. Wounded again by shrapnel in October 1918 during the Hundred Days.

Wounded 10 Oct 1918. GSW Head, right Hand and Foot.
In hospital 22 Oct 1918 - 14 Dec 1918 with "Hysteria", classic shell shock symptoms. Oct 10 1918 (Cabrai) Blown unconcious about half an hour, shrapnel in right leg.. Afterwards had headache, minor stutter. Trying to supress memories of France.
