Research Notes

Details of death from Ancestry.com which includes a digitized image of the casualty form from the "Canada, War Graves Registers (Circumstances of Casualty), 1914-1948" database

Manitoba's Genealogy Searches for Unrestricted Records lists his middle name as McIvor. A copy of his birth registration would have to be consulted to determine if this database entry is accurate.
Several memorials give his middle name as McKider rather than McNider. However, his Officers' Declaration (unsigned) and Circumstances of Casualty form both use McNider.

Mentioned in Huntingdon Gleaner, March 31st, 1921. Father, David Shirriff born Hinchinbrook, Quebec 1946
