Mildred McCombe, the daughter of Alexander McCombe and Elizabeth Esther Catherine Browne was born in Armagh, Ireland and came to Canada with her family in ~ 1890. She was the youngest of nine children.
Her brother, Lt. Col. Gault MCCombe, was with the 14th Battalion (Royal Montreal) Regiment.
